2人の打楽器奏者と2人のピアニストのために書かれた『Textures（テクスチャーズ）』は、打楽器が持つ多彩な音色を存分に活かした作品です。作曲者のランスキーは、減衰（ディケイ）の異なる金属楽器、響きすぎたり「ビヨーン」というような独特の癖（トワング）があったりしない膜鳴楽器、ウッドブロック、そして鍵盤楽器などを選定するよう奏者に求めており、それらによって独自の音響世界を創り出しています。全8曲の小品から構成されるこの作品は、高度な演奏技術を持つ奏者を対象としています。 - 作曲者
